Nature: Electrical Hazard – Wires Down / Arcing

On Saturday afternoon, September 4^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard / wires down / arcing issue on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of Station #1.  It was reported to be a high intensity power line down along side of the roadway surface.

Emergency response units from Indian River’s Long Neck Station included Engine #80-1 and 80 Command as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

It was identified as high intensity power line down in the area adjacent to Station #1 – Oak Orchard.  The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control until arrival of Delmarva Power.

All localized power was out in the area until the power line was restored.

All units were returned to their respective station.
