Indian River Mourns Loss of Member - Tiffany D. Hawkins Saturday, December 7, 2013 Tiffany Hawkins, Member of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Tiffany was 35 years old. Tiffany served as dedicated volunteer since joining the volunteer fire service. Tiffany’s insight, desire and compassion to help others was exceptional. Tiffany will be missed by her family as well as the members of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. She was 35 years old. Tiffany was born on May 9, 1978 in Harrisburg, PA to Steven R. and Dixie J. Williams Hawkins who survive her. She worked in the family business Hawkins Electric for 17 years and worked her way up to become a Journeyman Electrician. She was a member of the Indian River Fire Co. with 15 years of service. She loved all kinds of animals. Her nickname was “Tiffy Tenderheart” as she would rescue animals or help anyone in need of a place to stay. Her hobbies were fishing, bowling and spending time with her family and pets. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her companion of 17 years, Jon Raymond of Millsboro, maternal grandparents, Deloris and Robert Williams, of Millsboro, paternal grandmother, Ada Hawkins of Lewisberry, PA, a sister, Stacy Hawkins Snell of Millsboro, a nephew, Steven Snell with whom she worked, also her beloved canine friend “Chloe”, her cockatoos “Merlin” and “Little M”. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Oak Orchard Community Church, where friends may call after 11:00 AM for viewing and visitation. Burial will be held in Lewisberry, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to help offset medical and final expenses to Indian River Fire Co. P.O. Box 1710, Millsboro, DE 19966.
