Saturday December, 14 2013 Nature: Pre-Arranged Standby Assignment – Vehicle Accident Address: Wilmington Manor – New Castle @ Llangollen Blvd On Saturday, December 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided a pre-arranged stand-by crew for Wilmington Manor in New Castle Delaware and was alerted for a vehicle accident on South DuPont Highway in the area of Llangollen Blvd. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision. Emergency response units from Wilmington Manor included: Ambulance 28, Rescue 28 and Ladder 28. An additional ambulance from Goodwill responded to the incident location. It appears that gray Toyota Corolla sedan was traveling south on South DuPont Highway in the vicinity of Llangollen Blvd when a silver Chevrolet Impala entered the intersection and was struck on the passenger side. Both vehicles came to rest in the southbound lanes of the highway. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. The southbound lanes of highway were closed. The Delaware State Police are investigating. |
