Nature: Pre-Arranged Standby Assignment – Reported As Vehicle Fire

Address: Wilmington Manor – New Castle @ Hares Corner

On Saturday, December 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided a pre-arranged stand-by crew for Wilmington Manor in New Castle Delaware and was alerted for a vehicle fire on DuPont Highway in the area of Hares Corner. It was reported to be a car fire in the median.

Emergency response units from Wilmington Manor included: Rescue 28; and Ladder 28.

It appears that a white Mercury Marquis sedan was traveling north on DuPont Highway just north of Hares Corner. The vehicle was traveling north and lost control while entering the median strip. There were no reported injuries.

The incident was reported as a vehicle fire but was actually a property damage vehicle accident.
