Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 24055 Caldwell Circle, Middle Creek Preserve, DE 19958

On Thursday afternoon, July 29^th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a structure fire on Caldwell Circle in the Middle Creek Preserve of Angola Road. It was reported to be a residential structure struck by lightning.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included crews to the front of the exterior for fire suppression assignments.  Crews were assigned to assist with pulling the ceilings in the structure as well as assistance with opening the exterior of the building.

It was reported that the residential structure was struck by lightning and reported to the Emergency Operations Center via the neighbor who saw smoke coming from the structure.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident
