Nature: Vehicle Accident (Head On)

On Sunday evening, December 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Beaver Dam Road in the vicinity of the Falcon Crest development.  It was reported to be a head on collision and serious with aviation units being alerted.

Emergency response crews included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments include scene and vehicle stabilization as well as traffic control.  Beaver Dam Road between Hollymount Road and Indian Mission Road was closed for the duration of the incident.

Emergency medical services immediately identified that responding aviation units could be cancelled.

It appears that a blue Honda Civic and a silver Honda Accord collided for an unknown reason in the entrance to the Falcon Crest development.  The blue Honda Civic continued traveling east onto the shoulder of the roadway.  The silver Honda Accord traveled onto the embankment and came to rest in the front yard of the nearby residential structure.

The local emergency medical service provider did transport one person for additional observation.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
