Nature: Vehicle Fire

Address: 33602 Samantha Dr., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday evening, November 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Samantha Drive off of Friendship Road. It was reported to  be a F250, 4 door crew cab, Ford Pick Up Truck fully involved with exposures to a garage.

Emergency response units included: Engine #80-1, Rescue 80, and Incident Command 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 and Engine #800-5 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included to the first arriving unit to initiate a fire suppression attack line with other responding apparatus to provide manpower assistance and water resource assistance.

The initial fire suppression actions were unsuccessful until the application was foam was enacted. Engine #80-3 was the initial arriving unit with Engine #80-1 being the secondary arriving units. Engine #80-1 supplied water resources to Engine #80-3 and Rescue 80 provided manpower and air bottle refill resources.

It was stated that property heard a horn blowing and looked to find fire engulfing their Ford F250 pick up. The pick up was recently returned from a vehicle repair shop.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
