Friday November, 22 2013 @ 05:25:03 Nature: Gas Leak Location: Shell Station (Dash In) Address: Long Neck Rd and John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, 19966 On Friday morning, November 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak / fuel spill incident at the Dash In on John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to be a vehicle with a leaking fuel tank. Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard location and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck location as well as the 80 Incident Command and the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were assigned to mitigate the fuel spill incident with stay-dry absorbent, attempt to control to stop the leak, and use other absorbent devices to control the pooling of the fluids. The owner of the vehicle was apprised of the situation which appeared to be a rupture fuel tank and decided to impound the vehicle via a nearby towing company. All emergency response units were returned to their respective facilities. |
