Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS

On Sunday afternoon, November 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of the entrance to Driftwood Village. It was reported to a person struck by an automobile.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient assessment and stabilization, traffic control with complete closure of Oak Orchard Road, incident and scene mitigation, and well as vehicle stabilization.

It appears that a person riding a skateboard southbound in the northbound shoulder area was struck by northbound vehicle causing injury.
