Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS

On Saturday evening, October 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road between Green Road and Winding Creek Village. It was originally identified to the Long Neck Station when a passing motorist notified the Station of the accident.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility; Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, the Delaware State Fire Police, as well as the Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical services.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, where needed; patient stabilization, where needed; and traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a blue Jeep Liberty was traveling west on Banks Road and did not successful navigate the turns in the roadway. The Jeep ran off the roadway, overturned and slid into nearby trees. The occupants of the vehicle all refused additional medical observations.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
