Vehicles Collided on William Street Road

On Tuesday, October 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on William Street Road in the vicinity of Ed Morris Lane. It was reported to be two vehicles.

Emergency response units included Incident Command and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the local emergency services provider.

Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient assessment and stabilization; vehicle stabilization; and scene mitigation as well as traffic control.

It appears that a brown Nissan Altima was traveling north on William Street Road and struck a green Ford Taurus that backing onto William Street Road. The collision caused extensive front end damage to the Altima and significant rear end damage to the Taurus.

The occupants of the vehicles were evaluated and transferred via ground transportation to nearby medical facilities where desirous.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
