Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd and Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, May 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Long Neck Rd and Banks Rd.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, and incident mitigation activities. On the arrival of emergency apparatus, it was determined that there would be three juvenile occupants of the vehicles that needed to be evaluated for possible transport to nearby medical facilities.  Rescue 80 was cancelled while responding to the incident location.

It appears that a blue Honda Civic and a white Honda SUV collided at the intersection causing significant passenger side damage to the Honda Civic and front-end damage to the Honda SUV.  All occupants refused additional medical attention via patient refusal consent.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control around the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
