Nature: Dumpster Fire

On Saturday evening, May 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dumpster fire on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Bulls Eye Lane. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments were to initiate fire suppression measures and water supply to the first arriving unit.  Tanker 80 initiated the fire suppression line and Rescue 80 initiated the water supply assignment.  Engine #80-3 initiated the manpower resources for the activities.  

It appears that a dumpster with construction materials and other cardboard materials caught fire.  The property owner and neighbors utilized a garden hose for suppression prior to arrival of the fire company.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
