Tuesday September, 24 2013 @ 22:19:44 Nature: Service Call-fire Location: Ops On Mutual Aid 1 / Sea Address: 34935 Starboard Ct Millsboro, DE 19966 On Tuesday evening, September 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Delaware State Police on a search for a 78 year old from the Rehoboth Shores development off of Long Neck Road. It appears that the worked may have walked away from her residential structure. Emergency response units included: Rescue 80; Incident Command 80; Utility 80-08 with Polaris 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-5 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency response crew were assigned to coordinate a search patterns along the wood lines off of Long Neck Road; search the dirt pits and wooded areas in Pot Nets Bayside, Rehoboth Shores, Bay City and other immediately adjacent parcels all the while looking for a 78 year female wearing black sweatshirt type clothing. Each unit and group of manpower units were assigned to assist the various Delaware State Troopers that were coordinating the search patterns. The Delaware State Police also utilized the services of the Delaware State Fire Police and the State Police Aviation Unit as well. The various search patterns were discontinued at approximately 12:30 a.m. The Delaware State Police will be continuing their investigation. Updated 09/25/2013 It our understanding that after many emergency response units departed the incident location, the woman returned to her residential location. |
