Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Pedestrian Struck in the area of 31792 Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, April 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a pedestrian incident on Indian Mission Road in the area of Silicato Drive. Other ancillary alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, scene lighting, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a pedestrian was struck on Indian Mission Road in the area of Silicato Drive.  The incident caused significant injury to the pedestrian.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance with the complete closure of Indian Mission Road between John J. Williams Highway and Friendship Road.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
