Nature: Gas Leak

On Monday, August 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a reported gas leak at a residential location on Ringbolt Avenue in the Pot Nets Bayside development off of Long Neck Road.

It appears that a private contractor was operating a trencher that encountered an operational issue and overturned spilling hydraulic fluid from a broken line.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews were cancelled upon arrival of Indian River’s Incident Command.

The contractor secured the mitigation efforts.
