Saturday August, 24 2013 Nature: Standby Cover up Assignment – Mill Creek Fire Company, New Castle County Address: Mill Creek VFC, Pike Creek Valley, New Castle County, Delaware On Saturday, August 24th, the Indian River (80) and Delaware City (15) fire companies provided a pre-arranged stand-by cover up assignment for the Mill Creek (2 & 21) fire company in Pike Creek Valley, New Castle County, Delaware. The stand-by was requested to allow Mill Creek VFC to host for their members, families and friends the annual Appreciation event at the fire house. The standby assignment commenced at 10 a.m. These assignments allow Indian River members to identify firsthand the different types of emergency response incidents that could be encountered in a suburban setting. Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the activities in preparation for the Mill Creek’s event. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to acknowledge Mill Creek for their hospitality. The incident responses included two medical assist incidents.
