Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Pot Nets Bayside Main Gate Guard Area

Pot Nets Rd and Long Neck Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, March 9^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Pot Nets Road in the vicinity of the Pot Nets Guard Shack.  It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree. Other emergency response alerts included the Millsboro (83) EMS, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Ground and Aviation (Trooper 2) units.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, assistance with patient extrication, traffic control, landing zoning preparation, and incident mitigation.

It appears that a green Ford F350 Super Duty was not traveling on any roadway surface, striking fencing and trees causing significant vehicle damage and occupant injury.  The occupant did requirement significant medical attention and removal from the vehicle.

The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit transported the patient to Christiana Medical Center.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
