Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Sunday afternoon, June 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle collision on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of School Lane. It was reported to be two vehicles.

Emergency response units include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Chief 80-15 from the Long Neck area.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control assistance, as well as debris and fluid recovery.

It appears that a silver Audi was traveling north on Long Neck Road entering the left turn lane approaching School Lane when a maroon Ford Escort station wagon entered the roadway from Palmer’s Shopping Center striking the Audi. Both vehicles created a traffic congestion area for the duration of the incident. It was identified that the driver of the Ford departed the incident location prior to the arrival of the Delaware State Police and later returned for follow up activities.

There were no injuries associated with the collision.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
