Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Entrance – Rehoboth Shores Development

Address:  Goose Pond Rd and Long Neck Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, February 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of the entrance to Rehoboth Shores.  It was reported to be a single vehicle off roadway into trees.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient extrication from the vehicle, traffic control, and scene preservation.

It appears that a white Chevrolet Impala sedan was traveling on Long Neck Road and left the roadway for an unknown reason smashing through some split rail fencing and into trees.  It was identified that a single occupant remained in the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the incident.

The Delaware State Police were requested to expedite their respective response because of the condition of the vehicle’s occupant.  One person was transported to a nearby hospital for additional observation.

The Delaware State Police are investigation.
