Nature: Elevator/Escalator Rescue

Location: 34024 Harvard Ave, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday, February 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an elevator rescue incident on Harvard Avenue near Long Neck.  It was reported to be an elevator stuck on the 4^th floor with a single occupant.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation with gaining access to the elevator control room and access to the elevator compartment.

It appears that an elevator was stuck on the fourth floor as reported with a single occupant and two canines.  Deputy 80 and a local firefighter from Millsboro (83) responded was in the area and responded directly to the scene to assist and provide information to Rescue 80.  Access was gained to the elevator and the occupant was vacated. 

All units were authorized to return after the incident was placed under control

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
