IR Members Take Advanced Defensive Driving Course

On Tuesday, May 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted an Advanced Defensive Driving Course for its volunteer firefighters, ladies auxiliary and community friends.

The Advanced Defensive Driving was conducted by the Delaware Safety Council and addressed topics such as:

• Your Risk as a Driver;

• Inspection and Maintenance of your vehicle;

• Speed and Distance;

• Driving Emergencies;

• Situations and Surroundings;

• Collision Reporting Procedures; and many other topics.

The successful completion of this course allows for the learning of life saving defensive driving strategies and tips, and all participants are eligible to receive:

• A reduction on the liability & personal injury portion of their automobile insurance policy for a three year period; and

• A 3 point credit added to all Delaware licensed drivers motor vehicle records.
