Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 33232 Mercer Ave., Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Friday morning, January 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire incident on Mercer Avenue in Oak Orchard.  It was reported to be an odor of burning within the residential structure,

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew were assigned to evaluate and investigate the source of the odor within the residential structure as well as the exterior and within the crawl space. It appears the source of the odor was isolated to the area of the refrigerator on the porch area.

The homeowner was apprised of the diagnosis and the incident was placed under control.
