Nature: Trash Fire

Location: 30581 Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, January 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a trash fire on Mount Joy Road at the premises known for activities of ill repute.  The fire company was requisitioned to the incident location by an officer of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control because of illegal burning.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units were requested to extinguish an illegal burning episode of household garbage and other debris.  Firefighters were advised to utilize caution at the fire scene due to potential for disregarded needles and other paraphernalia.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control is investigating.
