Indian River Recognizes Michael G. Bowden 

On Thursday, January 14, 2021, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company recognized Michael G. Bowden on his 75th Birthday.  Additionally, Michael joined the volunteer fire services in January 1970 and has served 51 consecutive years in the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.

Michael was presented with an impromptu fire truck parade with the procession traveling by the family residence on Banks Road where he and family enjoyed the event. 

Michael has served in the following operational positions including administrative line and fire line operations: Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Chief Engineer, and Engineer.  Michael has been awarded Top Incident Responder for many years, Firefighter of the Year and bestowed the Henry C. Warrington Memorial Award as well as a Life Membership.  Michael’s tenure has afforded him the ability to be an adviser and assistant to the Chief as needed.
