Friday April, 19 2013 @ 17:32:19 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: Indian Mission Rd & John Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday, April 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway west of Indian Mission Road. The incident involved two vehicles colliding with one of the vehicles (Mercury Station wagon) traveled an additional distance striking a utility pole. The other vehicle (Jeep SUV) traveled across the eastbound traffic patterns into the opposite shoulder of the roadway. Emergency response apparatus included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient stabilization, if needed; perform vehicle stabilization where necessary; and assist with debris and fluid recovery. The Delaware State Fire Police were utilized for traffic control measures. One of the vehicle’s occupants was transferred to nearby medical facilities for additional observation. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
