Indian River Continues Community Service Initiatives…

As the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company continues its community service initiatives and the current year nears an end, we’ve all faced unprecedented challenges that we have never imagined.  These times have underscored the importance of relationships; community connectivity; acts of humanity, humility and kindness as well as of strength and resilience. These are things we have all seen time and again through the actions of our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and community partners.

Although our holidays may be different due to the pandemic, one thing will remain unchanged – our collective spirit of giving is never ending.  As in the past, we have collaborated with various community partners to assist with making our local families and children’s holidays more enjoyable by championing charitable gifting and distribution.

• Milestone Recognition Efforts with fire truck drive-bys for birthday events and fire safety and fire prevention information distribution,  

• Community Outreach Efforts with Nana’s Kids Campaign for 2020 for charitable gifting, gift wrapping and distribution,

• Community transportation of Santa to local Boys & Girls Club,

• Holiday Safety & Shopping Messages,

• Personal Hygiene & Safety Messages,

• Inclement Weather Preparation and Notifications,

• Holiday Flower and Bake Sale; and
