Nature: Fire Company Standby (Station 73) – Firefighters Funeral

Location: Dagsboro Fire Company

On Thursday, March 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Dagsboro (73) Fire Company and provided fire company stand-by coverage during the funeral service activities for Joshua Stevens.

Joshua Stevens was an Active Lifetime member with 60 years of service. Josh proudly held the offices of President, Fire Police Captain and Fire Police for over 35 years. Josh answered his last alarm of Saturday March 23, 2013, at the age of 80.

Viewing services were held on Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Melson's Funeral Home in Frankford from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funeral services immediately followed at 1 p.m. with internment at Redman's Cemetery in Dagsboro for departments wishing to attend the services for Josh Stevens.

Indian River as well as many other companies provided assistance to the Dagsboro Fire Company during these difficult times.
