Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 28946 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, December 12^th, the Indian River (80) Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Millsboro (83) Volunteer Fire Company with a working outbuilding fire on John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response crews from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with fire suppression, overhaul, and water supply if needed while Engine #80-3 remained available on scene for additional calls in both fire districts if needed.

It appears that an outbuilding shed type structure caught fire with reported exposures to a residence and wooded area when Indian River was requested to the assist.  The first arriving engine crew from Millsboro quickly brought the fire under control and all remaining crews assisted where needed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of John J. Williams Highway between William Street Road and Maryland Camp Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
