On Saturday afternoon, March 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential rescue situation involving a child stuck in some type of wrought iron furniture.

Emergency response unit included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80- 5 from the Long Neck facility.

Upon arrival at the residential location the child was freed from the furniture and all units were returned to quarters.

While returning to quarters, Engine #80-5 came upon a heavy smoke condition and initiated an investigation.

This analysis yielded an illegal burn scenario for residential construction debris and leaves.

The property owner was notified of the proper burning procedures and required extinguishment of the fire.
