Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Rehoboth Beach (86)

Address: 16 Holly Ridge, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

On Saturday afternoon, March 16th, the Rehoboth Beach (86), Lewes (82) and Indian River (80) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a working residential structure fire at 16 Holly Ridge in the Coastal Manor development off the Forgotten Mile Section of Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach.

Emergency response crews from Indian River included: Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Initial responding apparatus from Rehoboth Beach identified heavy fire showing on Side B with heavy smoke showing from the attic areas of the residential structure.

Incoming apparatus were assigned to initiate an aggressive fire suppression attack, establish a water supply from the nearby hydrants, set up ground ladders to commence ventilation as well as assist with interior fire suppression measures.

Additional emergency response units included the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Fire Marshall, and the Delaware Electric Cooperative.

The Delaware Electric Cooperative was notified to fully discontinue the utilities from the residential location.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating to determine the origin of the fire.

There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.

Crews Respond to Structure Fire in Dewey Beach

Fire crews were called just after 4:30pm to a structure fire on Holly Ridge Drive in Coastal Manor in Dewey Beach.
