Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Monday, March 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of John J. Williams Hwy. and Indian Mission Road. It was reported to be two vehicles with unknown occupant status.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crew assignments were to assist with patient stabilization, if needed, as well as coordinating traffic control, vehicle stabilization, and scene debris clean up.

It appears that both vehicles were traveling south on Indian Mission Road while the blue Hyundai was stopped at the traffic light and struck from the rear by the gray Ford SUV. The occupant of the Hyundai required additional medical observation and was transported to nearby medical facilities by the local emergency medical service provider.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
