Sunday February, 3 2013 @ 18:40:35 Nature: Structure Fire - Assist Rehoboth Beach (Station #86) Address: 23051 Cypress Dr., Lewes, DE 19958 Working Structure Fire – Assist Rehoboth Beach (Station #86) On Sunday evening, February 3rd, the Indian River and Lewes fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company with a working structure fire on Cypress Drive off of Angola Neck Road. It was reported to be a working incident with heavy fire and smoke showing based upon the first arriving emergency response units. Emergency responses units from Indian River included Engine #80-1, Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency response units from Rehoboth (86) and Lewes (82) were requested to initiate a fire suppression attack, as well as provide water resources to the initial arriving units; and Indian River (80) was requested to established a hydrant connection and prepare for water supply establishment. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residential occupants with temporary shelter accommodations. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the incident. Firemen from Indian River and Rehoboth got the call just before 7 p.m.; arriving units found heavy fire and smoke showing. No injuries were reported. We’re told the American Red Cross is assisting the residential occupants with temporary shelter accommodations. |
