Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Sunday afternoon, February 3, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road near the Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center.

It appears that a Blue Ford Explorer was departing the Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center and extended through the intersection into a small patch of underbrush, trees and a residential property berm before accessing a private residential yard and driveway.

The driver and passengers of the vehicle refused any additional medical observations and were released to the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response units include Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient stabilization, if needed; to perform vehicle stabilization; and provide traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control measures and reduced traffic flow to one lane for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
