Vehicle Collision Requires Washdown

On Saturday afternoon, February 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wash down assignment as a result of a property damage vehicle collision on Indian Mission Road near the intersection of Friendship Road.

It was reported to be a wash down assignment as a result of vehicle collision.

It appears that black Ford Escape SUV was traveling north on Indian Mission Road attempting to turn left onto Friendship Road and was struck from behind by a silver Pontiac Sunfire causing significant damage to both vehicles. The occupants of the vehicles refused medical attention.

Emergency response apparatus include Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization and debris clean up as well as fluid mitigation and recovery.

The Delaware State Fire Police were utilized for traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.
