Structure Fire Automatic Alarm Incident Yields Apparatus Electrical Issue

On Saturday morning, February 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.  It was reported to be smoke detector activation at the Long Neck facility.

Upon arrival of Chief Ryan Mock, the Station 2 facility was fully loaded with a heavy smoke condition.  It was quickly determined that the smoke conditions was being emitted from the Brush Truck #80-0 which suffered from an electrical shortage near the pump panel.

Emergency response units from other entities were cancelled.

It appears that the electrical wiring to the spot lights and pump panel shorted out causing the wiring harness to ignite and burn much of the electrical wirings causing a heavy smoke condition.

The Chief Engineer Jim Wagner and designees initiated repairs in order to have the apparatus fully operational in case it was needed for additional response.
