Indian River Recognizes Volunteers..

Recently, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company held its Annual Firefighter Appreciation Banquet at Baywood Greens Clubhouse and recognized many members for their community contributions and volunteerism.

During calendar year 2012, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for 384 incidents and the 2012 Top Incident Responders were:

• Harry Dawson with 358 alarm attendance;

• Jim Wagner with 357 alarm attendance;

• Billie Jo Casapula with 300 alarm attendance;

• Brian Morley with 290 alarm attendance;

• David Blumenthal with 269 alarm attendance;

• Ryan Mock with 253 alarm attendance;

• Hayden Klingler with 250 alarm attendance;

• Michael Bowen with 246 alarm attendance;

• Stephen Miller with 245 alarm attendance;

• John Rossiter with 225 alarm attendance;

• Patrick Miller with 224 alarm attendance;

• Jim Becker with 219 alarm attendance;

• Steven Deery, Jr. with 209 alarm attendance;

• Joseph LeVan with 205 alarm attendance; and

• Steven Hawkins with 167 alarm attendance.

The other recognition items included:

• 2012 Administrative Officers;

• 2012 Fire Line Officers;

• 2012 Fire Police Officers;

• 2012 Engineers; and

• 2012 Truck Committee.

Previously highlighted were the following recognition awards:

• 2012 Firefighter of the Year – James R. Wagner;

• 2012 Chief’s Award – Billie Jo Casapulla;

• 2012 President’s Award – Tyler N. Wright;

• 2012 Henry C. Warrington Award – Joseph Thompson, III; and

• Special Recognition Item – Janice C. Timmons, Realtor

Ladies Auxiliary President Linda Cullen presented Fire Company President Patrick Miller with check for $30,000 to be allocated towards the expansion of the pantry and walk-in refrigerator freezer.
