Nature: Vehicle Accident - BLS

On Saturday morning, January 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Townsend Road in the vicinity of Harmony Cemetery Road and reported as a single vehicle striking a tree, one occupant, and no entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response assigned were limited because the vehicle occupant had already received pre-hospital emergency medical evaluations by the local emergency service provider and the vehicle was stabilized.

It appears that silver Toyota Camry was traveling on snow covered Townsend Road and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking a tree causing significant front end damage to the vehicle. 

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
