Nature: House Fire – Assist Rehoboth (Station 86)

Address: 162 East Side Dr Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

On Wednesday morning, January 16^th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company were a reported structure fire on East Side Drive in the Rehoboth Beach Yacht and Country Club.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facilities.

As emergency response units from Rehoboth Beach responded to the incident, it was identified that exterior decking caught fire and possibility provided extensions into the residential structures. 

Rehoboth Beach units were assigned to lay the large diameter hose (5”) and initiate fire suppression measures to the residential structure.  Other responding units were required to check to interior fire extension and damage.  Lewes units were required to provide manpower assistance while Indian River units were redirected to provide standby coverage to Rehoboth’s Station #2 location.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
