Nature: Gas Leak

On Sunday, September 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a reported gas leak with a strong odor of propane in the area of the residential structure.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15, Engines #80-3 and 80-1 from the Long Neck area, Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included evaluation and identify source of the propane, forcible entry into the residential structure, and continued evaluation.

It was determined that this newly constructed structure was encountering a extremely low quantity of propane in the tank thereby causing the odor.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control for the duration of the incident.

All units were cleared for return to their respective quarters.
