Friday January, 4 2013 @ 18:07:15 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: 26582 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday evening, January 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Morning View Lane east of Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle rear end type collision with minor injuries. Emergency response apparatus included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient assessment and stabilization as well as vehicle stabilization, fluid recovery and traffic control for duration of the incident. Chief Ryan Mock coordinated the incident command functionality and requested the Sussex County Paramedics to evaluate one of the vehicle occupants who desired additional observations. It appears that a white Toyota Fit was traveling west on John J. Williams Highway and was struck from behind by a tan Chevrolet Prizm causing damage to both vehicles. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. While mitigating the circumstances of the vehicle accident, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for another vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Bay Farm Road.
