On Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:48 p.m., January 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an overdose or poisoning episode and then upgraded to a cardiac arrest situation on Comanche Circle in the Warwick Park development off of River Road. Emergency response crews included Brush 80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency response assignments included to assist with patient care and provide assistance to the Sussex County Paramedics or local ambulance service provider, if needed. During the final stages of the incident response, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) advised Incident Command of an additional structure fire incident in the Oak Meadows development off of Oak Orchard Road. Thursday January, 3 2013 @ 17:02:16 Nature: Structure Fire Address: 27599 Thistle Lane, Oak Meadows, Millsboro, DE 19966 It was reported to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, that a neighbor could identify smoke coming under the residential structure across the street and was not certain of the origin. Emergency crews included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 responded from the Warwick Park incident. Emergency response crews were able to quickly identify that this situation was a neighboring burning leaves and downgraded the incident response as well as provided additional communication with the residential property occupants. All emergency apparatus was provided to return to quarters after the fire was extinguished. |
