Thursday January, 3 2013 @ 13:44:10 Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector Address: 34396 High Tide Dr S., Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday afternoon, January 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide leak inside a residential structure on High Tide Drive South, Pot Nets. Emergency response crews included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency response assignments included to evaluate and investigate the residential structure, interior and exterior, for a potential source. Also, gas detectors and monitors were utilized to track the levels of CO inside the structure. It was determined that excessive quantities of CO were discovered as was a deceased feline in the residence. It was further determined that the source of was the heating system. Interior crews were required monitor the levels of CO, ventilate the structure, make contact with a heating repair firm and locate temporary housing accommodations for the occupant(s). Upon completion of the ventilation efforts all crews were returned back to quarters. |
