Nature: Annual Boys & Girls Club Holiday Appreciation Dinner

On Wednesday evening, December 19th, the Community Church of Oak Orchard and the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company partnered to host the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Orchard-Riverdale for their annual Christmas Play at the Community Church of Oak Orchard and dinner provided and catered by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Co., Inc.

Traditionally, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has provided a catered dinner to the patrons (students) and parents of the Boys & Girls Club. This event is the capstone to an annual Christmas Play and Show performed by the students of the Club and held at the Community Church. Afterwards, the attendees walked across the street for the annual dinner hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary.

This event is a community service project provided by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and approximately 150 persons attended. This year’s event was also attended by representatives of the American Legion Post #28 –Ladies Auxiliary Unit and the corporate office of the Boys & Girls Club as well.

Every entity of the American Legion has handsomely supported the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Orchard.

Santa Claus also made a special presentation to each child in attendance. Each child in attendance was provided a bag of goods which include fruits, refreshments and some candy.

This event was another collaborative effort to Nana’s Kids Campaign on behalf of the late Dottie Gudger. Many of these children were presented gifts from the Nana’s Kids Campaign.
