Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

Early Saturday morning of November 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on Mount Joy Road in the area of Cannon Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle incident with minor injuries.

It appears that a white Ford Ranger pickup was traveling north on Mount Joy Road approaching the curve near Cannon Road and lost control for an unknown reason, over corrected, striking an embankment and a group of trees.

The occupant of the vehicle received minor injuries and was transported to nearby medical facilities by the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Police, the Delaware State Fire Police and the Incident Command Unit.

Emergency response crews were assigned to stabilize the vehicle where needed.

The Delaware State Fire Police were required to coordinate traffic control for the duration of the incident.
