Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Mount Joy Rd and Cannon Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, August 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company for a vehicle accident involving a single vehicle roll-over on Mount Joy Road near Cannon Road.  Additional emergency alerts included Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Fire Police, and the local emergency medical services.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control with the closure of Mount Joy Road, vehicle stabilization and incident mitigation.  Upon arrival of Rescue 80 and establishing incident command, Engine #80-1 was cancelled.

It appears that a Fiat sub-compact car was traveling on Mount Joy Road rounding the curve near the Cannon Road intersection and left roadway causing the vehicle to roll-over into nearby wooded area.  The occupant of the vehicle apparently self-extricated prior arrival of emergency response units.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control assignments for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
