Afternoon – 1 p.m. – Tuesday, October 30, 2012 The Honorable Ruth Briggs-King, State Representative tours the Indian River fire district to evaluate the impact of Hurricane Sandy firsthand. Rep. Briggs-King attends the Oak Orchard facility after completing her actual tour of the Long Neck Road area survey the impact of the departing storm. Rep. Briggs-King was able to witness the efforts of the evacuation mandate while the various state officials and government agencies performed their inspection activities. During the same time, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was returning its apparatus from the designated ancillary storage facilities offsite. Much of the water conditions have significantly enhanced with many, if not all, of the roadways passable. Illustrated are some photographs of the designated areas.
