Jefferson Award Presented to the Ladies Auxiliary of Indian River

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company held its Annual Banquet at Station #1 in Oak Orchard on December 11^th.

President Patrick Miller presented the Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company with a Jefferson Award for their Public Service for more than 50 years of service to the community and the fire company.  Vice President Jean Moore accepted the award for the Ladies Auxiliary.  Additionally, three (3) members of the Ladies Auxiliary, Jean Moore, Linda Cullen and Ann Hall all received Jefferson Awards for their Community Service as well as the many years of dedicated and diligent service to the Ladies Auxiliary. 

The Jefferson Awards program was founded by Jacquelin Kennedy Onassis and the Honorable Robert Taft, Jr. to recognize and encourage volunteerism and community service.
