Sunday, October 28, 2012 Mid Morning – Survey – 8 a. – 10 a. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is monitoring the pending inclement weather conditions and preparing to staff both stations (Oak Orchard and Long Neck) during the storms period to ameliorate responses. Everyone should review their respective evacuation plan, if needed, and plan on the possibility of being without power for an extended period. Basic supplies (i.e.; food, water, prescription medications and other medical needs, radios, flashlights, and a supply of batteries) should be included. Preparations for animals should be included in your evacuation plan. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will update the public of its operational status throughout the storm period. As many residents of the State of Delaware make preparation plans for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company performed an additional fire district survey as of mid morning – Sunday, October 28, 2012 and illustrated some tidal flooding within the fire district.
