Nature: Aggressive & Suspicious Driving Complaint

Address: John J Williams Highway & Oak Orchard Road - Millsboro

On Monday evening, August 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was returning from a previous incident and encountered what appeared to be an aggressive driver; however, upon additional actions and information, we just followed the vehicle. The vehicle entered the communities of Oak Orchard and turned right on River Road and encountered a roadway closure barrier due to the recent flooding on River Road.

The vehicle then turned into a private driveway and drove around the residential structure and became lodged between the two structures.

The operator of the vehicle was an elderly gentleman that appeared to be confused.

The incident was mitigated with the assistance of the various mutual aid agencies.

IRVFD Helps Confused Elderly Driver

Firemen from Indian River say they were returning from a previous incident Monday night when they spotted what appeared to be an aggressive driver near Route 24 and Oak Orchard Road.

The firemen followed the driver; he entered the communities of Oak Orchard and then turned onto River Road only to encounter a roadway closure barrier due to recent flooding.

The vehicle then turned into a private driveway and drove around the home where he became lodged between two structures.

Firemen came to the elderly man’s rescue; the firemen said he appeared to be confused.
